Here at Dark Smile Productions we like
to provide an insight into just what happens in a recording studio, and
to that end we have provided a visual diary of sorts. Take a peek.
WARNING: Some of our
performers really do have faces for radio, those weak of heart should
look away.
The first read-through. The company try and work
out their motivation - i.e. 'In this scene I'm a Welsh squid'.
Boys with their toys. Jow laughs outwardly, but
secretly wonders when the madness will end...
Simon and Ratty swap acting tips. Simon is very
particular about this, as in this play he has been chosen to stand in
for Ratty during dangerous physical scenes.
Richard stares helplessly at the script, wondering
what he's created. Iain takes the photo knowing that he'll be entering a
world of pain when it comes to the editing.
It's been a long session. Aaron has started to believe
that the mic is talking back.
Simon does not know how to give a bad performance. He
also loves the smell of the soundproofing on the walls. Something about
feeling at home in rubber...
We don't need the microphones to be that big. We just
like to intimidate people.
The boys look on as Adam attaches the 'Kick Me' sign
to Simon's back.
Working in a rubber room for so long has a funny
effect on the team. Aaron and Simon consider forming a boyband.
Adam is not impressed and Richard tries to shove his whole arm into his
ear.
Some serious work gets done whilst the boys are away.
By the way, we don't allow smoking in the studio - it's a pen.
No caption. How could we possibly comment?
We're in it for the glamour
Jow and Richard own the zone. Jow relishes the chance to
utter the line ' I love horses; they're my friends.'
